In the year 2001 I started a simple voluntary foundation named for my mother,
for the purpose of supporting housing for families devastated by flooding in the Philippines'
province of northern Samar, which we "adopted".

We continue to collect contributions, all of which go to helping build schoolrooms,
provide rice and staple foods, and provide medical care to families in this region.
